Design Vision

“One Island, One Tower ” –a transformative concept in the heart of Maldives. Rising from the center of this aquatic landscape is born a unique tower, that embodies the spirit of wild nature, defying convention. Inspired by fluid shape created from the waterdrop and the circular ripples, the iconic tower and its surrounding place all the function to create a destination.

With placemaking in mind the island contains all the functions that make it self-sufficient and desirable for tourists, locals and guests of nearby islands. Its form, reminiscent of a blossoming orchid, suggests growth, resilience, and a connection to the natural world. The tower’s petals unfurl, creating a dynamic silhouette that interacts with the changing light and shifting tides. The structure’s design mimics the fluidity of water, with curvilinear shapes that blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment. The façade, clad in reflective materials, mirrors the shimmering surface of the sea, creating an illusion of the building dissolving into the horizon.

Sustainability

The design is guided by biophilic principles and sustainability to create an innovative ecosystem in the Maldives. It will prioritize climate resilience, energy efficiency, and the use of sustainable materials, ensuring that the outcome is both iconic, functional and environmentally responsible. Deploying LEED standards, Rainwater harvesting and car-free infrastructure will create an eco-friendly environment that can serve as an worldwide example.
